Fitbit Furthers Acquisition Agenda With Vector Smartwatch

Fitbit has announced its latest acquisition, luxury smartwatch start-up Vector.

The start-up emerged last year with a unique luxury smartwatch boasting an e-ink screen and 30 days of battery life.

Digital Trends said that “the Vector Luna’s long battery life and super stylish, mature design make this smartwatch a pleasure to live with.”

It’s the latest in several big acquisitions Fitbit have made in the smartwatch space. The move sets them up to continue down the journey started with last year’s Fitbit Blaze.

Vector’s founder and CTO Andrei Pitis has indicated to TechCrunch that the company was acquired for its software platform and design team.

A statement on the company’s website says the Vector team “will start building other new and amazing products, features and experiences, incorporating our unique technology and knowhow with Fitbit’s experience and global community.”
