EXCLUSIVE: Blaupunkt Set To Make Major Return To Australia
One of Europe’s leading AV and audio brands Blaupunkt is set to be relaunched in Australia.
The brand that was extremely popular in the CRT TV era and was responsible for the first TV with a built-in video recorder in Australia, is set to launched by Ayonz a Company formed by former Tempo senior executive, Ziad Yaacoub.
Among the new range being launched in australia will be UHD TV’s and networked sound systems.
The Luxembourg owners of Blaupunkt, GIP Development SARL said that they welcome the return of the Blaupunkt brand to Australia and that Ayonz Pty Limited, is now working with retailers to introduce new Soundbases and soundbars, home audio products across all categories as well as several and personal audio products.
According to Yaacoub Ayonz has been working with Blaupunkt for more than 12 months to develop the right products for the Australia market.

ChannelNews understands that several leading retailers have agreed to take the brand in 2018.
Blaupunkt was founded in November 1923. At that time the companies name was Ideal Radiotelefon- & Apparatefabrik. The portfolio consisted out of headsets and detector receivers.
They then developed high end headphones that were tagged with a blue point as a test mark. Soon, buyers were only asking for Blaupunkt “headsets.
In 1938 the Company changed its name to Blaupunkt.
The Company who has a long history of firsts was responsible for developing the first European car radio – the Blaupunkt Autosuper Receiver AS 5 (1932), the first transistor radio (1957), the first Auto-CD-Player (1983) or the first European navigation system (1989).
Since 2010, Blaupunkt has been developing their consumer lifestyle brand with “remarkable growth” spanning tablets PCs, TV, air condition and kitchen installation units as well as audio-, security- and navigation systems.
