EXCLUSIVE: Big Picture People Retail Revolt

The Big Picture People are facing a partner revolt with one key retailer quitting claiming that they “don’t see a future” with the group of retailers.

Alex Golod, General Manager of the “Hollywood Cinema Store” which is a new operation set to launch today said that he is looking for more than what the BPPG operation can deliver in particular access to new brands.

The Hollywood Cinema Store which is located in Victoria will have 7 theatre rooms use to be called the Big Picture Store was based in the Westfield Fountain Gate Shopping Centre in Narre Warren.

Golod said “we needed to depart and depart quickly from The Big Picture Group; we believe the product range and services of the Big Picture People Group is limited and we can get better industry support by not being part of the group”.

He added “Their web site operation was a joke and so was the way they wanted me to run the business. We now have excellent industry support without The Big Picture Group.

“Our aim is to be the best in our field, and not be a supplier of basic solutions like a lot of our competitors. We have our own technicians and everything we do is in-house, unlike others that use sub-contractors for home installation” he said.

We have the ability to sell advanced audio solutions and the best in home cinema systems, our staff are highly trained and passionate about providing the best solutions for our customers”.

The exit leaves a gap in the BPPG operation as the Narre Warren store was the largest store out of the Big Picture People Group of stores.

When ChannelNews made a call to the 1300 number on the Big Picture People web site it asks callers to pick the store they want to deal with, but the only problem is that no stores are listed, and the call goes dead.
