EXCLUSIVE: Aqipa Restructures New CEO Appointed
In a move aimed at expanding their Australian operation European management of the Austrian owned Company have appointed a new CEO.
Mr Alfredo Sabatino took over as new CEO in October which is the same month that Sohan Karunaratne who joined Aqipa from Convoy departed the Company days out from IFA 2019.
ChannelNews understands that Karunaratne has gone back to working with a Sydney based marketing agency.
Alfredo , a German citizen, has spent the last 6 years in Australia and gained extensive experience at Thomas Warburton Pty Ltd (part of the Würth Group) as the acting COO/CFO and Managing Director.
During his time with this Company he was responsible for repositioning in the Australian marketplace and established RFID based vendor managed inventory solutions for the manufacturing industry to reduce the total cost of ownership for its customers.
Cameron Gregg who was also part of the original team that established Aqipa is set to stay on as a director working to grow the Companies specialist and mass channel business in Australia.Aqipa Australia was established 2 years ago Australia & 1 ago year in New Zealand.
Christian Trapl, CEO of Aqipa Group from Austria said, “After an initial set-up phase and a very successful start in the Australian market it is the right time for us to further improve our fulfilment capabilities, improve our processes and prepare the organization for further growth”.
Among the brands distributed by Aquipa are Bang & Olufsen, Pure, Master & Dynamics, Audio Fly, French speaker brand Devialet and Master & Dynamics. ChannelNews understands that several new brands are set to be released in the new year including a new range of Braun speakers that we saw at IFA 2019.
