EXCLUSIVE: Another Senior Director Quits Acer
Another senior director has quit Acer Australia days after the Companies former General Manager parted company with the Taiwanese PC maker.
Manish Hingorani Head Of Information Technology Department at Acer Computer Australia is just one of several people to have left Acer this month following the exit of former Managing Director Darren Simmons last month.
General Manager Greg Mikaelian quit earlier this week along with two other people.
Gaba Cheng, the new Managing Director of Acer Australia, is currently recruiting new executives despite a headcount freeze.
Last year, Acer delivered 35% growth across PC gaming the education market and in enterprise and B2B markets.
Acer, like several other PC Companies, are now facing problems getting supply.
Recently, the Company said that the global chip shortage will slow notebook production until at least next year.
One of the biggest PC manufacturers in the world, Acer said the worldwide global chip shortages will continue to have a “severe” impact on production capabilities until at least the first or second quarter of next year, despite supply improving recently.
As a result, Acer has moved to cut costs and restrict head count.
At a financial briefing last week, global CEO Jason Chen said that lockdowns in China to control COVID-19 upended key component supply and disrupted PC production, despite chip shortages.
“Semiconductor shortage was the biggest problem in the first half of last year,” Chen said.
“Now, we are beset by a supply chain issue caused by China’s lockdowns.”
The pressure on departments showed through last week, when Acer Australia failed to deliver to technology media press releases on their new 2022 range of products, despite journalists in more than 16 other Countries being given press releases, local briefings and in some cases access to new products.
