French hi-fi specialist Elipson has unveiled two new active speakers in its affordable Horus range, bringing amplification and wireless convenience to its previously passive line-up.

The new models, the Horus 6B Active BT bookshelf speaker and the Horus 11F Active BT floorstander, feature 2 × 50 W RMS amplification, a sophisticated bass reflex system and high-quality drivers.

Both speakers use glass-fibre reinforced cellulose pulp for mid-bass drivers and silk dome tweeters powered by neodymium magnets, promising “natural, accurate and detailed” sound.

Unlike the original passive Horus models, these active versions do not require an external amplifier or DAC.

The Horus Active BT speakers connect directly to computers via USB, to turntables with their MM phono input, or to TVs via HDMI ARC, supporting seamless audio return with a single cable. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD ensures high-quality wireless streaming from phones, tablets, or laptops.

The Horus 6B Active BT, compact and suitable for desktops or smaller living spaces, is already on sale in the UK for £399 (A$840).

The Horus 11F Active BT, a larger floorstanding model with enhanced low-frequency performance, will launch in October for £899 (A$1,880). Both come in three finishes: Light Wood/Beige, Walnut/Dark Grey, and Black/Carbon.
