Crestron has launched its new 80 Series touch screens, marking the biggest overhaul of its control interface platform in more than a decade.

The new range features native Crestron Home OS integration, faster processing, upgraded sensors and a more sophisticated industrial design designed for today’s connected homes and premium commercial spaces.

Available in 8-inch and 10-inch models, the Series 80 replaces the previous “standard” 7-inch format with a larger, more immersive display.

Both sizes can be wall-mounted or used in a tabletop configuration and can be installed in either landscape or portrait orientation. Finishes include high-gloss black and white.

Crestron has significantly upgraded processing power, creating headroom for future features to be delivered via firmware updates.

The platform is shared across both residential and commercial models, bringing enterprise-grade security to the home. This includes Microsoft’s mDefender-based protection, a level of cybersecurity more commonly seen in government and high-security installations.

Usability has also been a major focus. The Series 80 introduces a radar-based proximity sensor using mmWave technology to wake the screen as a user approaches, along with an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness.

New far-field microphones and upgraded speakers improve paging and intercom performance, while a physical microphone mute button addresses privacy concerns.

Connectivity options include both PoE+ and Wi-Fi, making the screens suitable for new builds and retrofit projects alike.

The Crestron Series 80 touch screens are scheduled to become available at the beginning of Q2.
