Samsung have mini-fied the NX camera. The new NX mini compact interchangeable lens camera weighs 196g (with battery) and is pocket-sized with a 22.5mm width.
It also has near field communication (NFC) and Wi-Fi so pics can be transferred to other devices/uploaded to Instagram or Facebook asap.
The NX mini is “a fantastic evolution” said Craig Gillespie, Head of Digital Imaging, Samsung.
“The NX mini’s 3-inch Flip up Display and interchangeable wide angle lens allow for easy framing, and it is an ideal size to fit in a pocket or handbag.”
The 3-inch display turns around 180-degrees so users can take selfies or video, which is captured at Full HD. It’s also got a really cool ‘Wink shot’ that captures pics with a ‘wink’ of an eye.
It has a 1-inch 20.5mp BSI CMOS sensor, 6fps continuous shooting and 1/16000 sec shutter speed that captures fast moving objects with less blur, and comes bundled with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.
“In addition to interchangeable lenses, we believe this range is one of the most versatile models in our compact camera offering,” says Gillespie.
The NFC capability transfers images to a tablet or PC by placing it beside the NX mini and pushing a button.
Samsung announced three NX-M lenses for the NX mini; the NX-M 9mm F3.5 ED lens an ultra-slim wide angle lens for capturing landscapes, individual or group shots; NX-M 9-27mm F3.5-5.6 ED OIS lens is a micro-compact zoom lens; NX-M 17mm F1.8 OIS lens provides photographers with a large aperture to produce smooth ‘bokeh’ effects which make the subject stand out from the background.
NX-M Mount Adapter, which is sold separately can mount another 15 Samsung NX lenses.
