CES 2026: HP Doubles Down on AI PCs With New OmniBook and OmniStudio Lineup
HP has used CES 2026 to unveil a sweeping refresh of its consumer PC portfolio, betting big on on-device AI, OLED displays and long battery life as it looks to win over hybrid workers, creators and students.
Headlining the announcement is the new HP OmniBook Ultra 14, which HP claims is the world’s first consumer notebook to deliver up to 85 TOPS of NPU performance, enabling multiple AI workloads to run concurrently on the device.
The flagship laptop can be configured with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X2 Elite processors or next-generation Intel Core Ultra (Panther Lake) chips, marking a shift away from AMD in this premium tier.

The OmniBook Ultra 14 weighs under 1.3kg, is thinner than the current MacBook Air and features a 2.8K OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh.
HP is also touting durability, with MIL-STD-810 testing, and a new compact vapour chamber cooling system designed to sustain AI-heavy workloads. Battery life is rated at up to 20 hours, stretching higher on select Snapdragon configurations.
For desktop users, HP introduced the OmniStudio X 27, described as the world’s first Neo:LED all-in-one PC with dual 100% colour coverage. Aimed at creators and home offices, it pairs Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics, and introduces Thunderbolt Share for seamless laptop-to-desktop workflows.

Beyond the flagships, HP has refreshed its entire OmniBook 3, 5, 7 and X ranges for 2026. Updates include broader use of OLED panels, support for AMD Ryzen AI, Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X2 processors, and Copilot+ PC features baked into Windows 11. HP is positioning almost the entire lineup as “next-gen AI PCs”.
Chromebooks also get attention, with updated Chromebook Plus models featuring 2K displays, 360-degree hinges and tighter integration with Google’s AI tools.
On the software side, all new consumer PCs ship with HP’s Digital Passport hub, alongside HP Omni+ for password management and HP TV+, a built-in free streaming hub.
The OmniBook Ultra 14 launches in January from US$1,549, with broader availability across the range rolling out from February through spring 2026. Australian pricing and release dates are yet to be confirmed.
