Belkin is expanding its display connectivity range with the introduction of the ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter, a system designed to mirror screens without relying on a Wi-Fi network. Aimed at professionals, travellers, and presenters, the new adapter creates a direct wireless link between devices and displays, removing the need for apps, drivers, or shared networks.

The ConnectAir system consists of two compact components. A USB-C transmitter connects to laptops, tablets, or smartphones, while an HDMI receiver plugs directly into a television, monitor, or projector. Once connected, the pair establishes its own wireless connection, allowing users to share their screen quickly and reliably. According to Belkin, the connection can reach distances of up to 40 metres, making it suitable for hotel rooms, classrooms, and larger meeting spaces.

Expected to launch in select markets during the first quarter of 2026, the ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter is priced at approximately $A230. While it does not offer the seamless ecosystem integration of services such as Apple AirPlay or Google Cast, it makes up for this by supporting a far wider range of devices. Any source capable of outputting video via USB-C can transmit to any display equipped with an HDMI port. The only additional requirement is a nearby USB-A port to provide power to the HDMI receiver.

Video output is capped at 1080p resolution with a 60 Hz refresh rate, which Belkin positions as ideal for presentations, streaming, and general productivity. The adapter uses a 5 GHz wireless signal that can pass through walls, though performance may vary depending on building materials and wall thickness.

For shared environments, Belkin has added support for multiple transmitters. Up to eight USB-C transmitters can be paired with a single receiver, allowing users to switch between devices without physically accessing a projector or display mounted in a difficult location. This feature is particularly useful in conference rooms and collaborative workspaces where multiple presenters need quick access to the screen.
