CES 2023: Belkin Pledges To Use Recycled Packaging

Samsung is not the only company taking the lead on sustainability goals this year; many more such as Belkin took to CES 2023 to discuss how it is planning to use recycled plastic in its manufacturing process to become carbon neutral by 2025.

The accessory manufacturer discussed how it will revamp a large range of its existing products by using around 73% and 75% less virgin plastic, plus plastic-free packaging.

Belkin hopes this will save up to 7,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, and will also reduce the equivalent of CO2 emissions for those particular products by 67%. By using post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, Belkin has the opportunity to make the use of such plastics more of a closed system, where plastic is continually reused for as long as it can be, reducing the amount of new plastic that needs to be created and consumed.

The company has taken steps to ensure that quality of the products remain the same while retaining the same look and feel as before, without raising prices. Some of the products to get this eco-friendly design are BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W, BoostCharge USB-C PD 3.0 PPS Wall Charger 25W, and BoostCharge PRO Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger with PPS 65W, among others.

And this might just be the start: many more products are estimated to have sustainable designs in the future.
