CES 2022: LG Gets Into Gaming Laptops

LG has entered a crowded new market with its first-ever gaming laptop.

The LG UltraGear gaming laptop (model 17G90Q) has picked up a CES Innovation Award, and according to the manufacturer, blends powerful performance with a sleek design. It comes equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor, a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual SSD storage, and 17-inch full-HD IPS display with 1ms response time and 300Hz refresh rate.

Additionally, it features per-key RGB lighting, vapour-chamber cooling system, Wi-Fi 6E with Intel Killer Wireless, built-in speakers with three-dimensional sound, and LG UltraGear Studio gaming software.

According to Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company, LG’s first foray into gaming notebooks will deliver a “sublime” gaming experience.

“The LG UltraGear gaming laptop has everything needed to tackle the latest high-spec games, delivering the smooth, responsive gameplay that all gamers want.

“Our first-ever gaming laptop, the 17G90Q, differentiates itself from competing products with its premium hardware; generous, high-quality screen; and a sleek, lightweight design that maximises convenience and portability,” said Seo.

The new laptop will initially be available in the US and South Korea before expanding to other markets later this year.
