CES 2021: Acer Unveils Laptops With Latest AMD And Intel Chips, Plus New NVIDIA GPUs
Acer has showcased a new line of AMD-powered notebooks, as well as updates to 11th-generation Intel Core processors for its Predator Triton and Helios series gaming laptops.
The Nitro 5 gaming notebook, as well as the Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 laptops, will now be available with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series mobile processors. According to Acer, these processors deliver fast and efficient performance for laptops.
“With up to 8 cores of processing power, they combine low-power high-bandwidth memory with low power consumption and up to double the data rates achieved by the previous generation of RAM, making them ideal for the new Nitro and Aspire notebooks,” the manufacturer said.
The Nitro 5 will now be available with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 HX mobile processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU (which was announced by NVIDIA this morning). It will ship with 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch displays, available in either full-HD or quad-HD configurations; up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM; and support for Killer E2600 and Wi-Fi 6.
The Aspire 7 will feature an AMD Ryzen 5000 Series mobile processor paired with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU and a full-HD 15.6-inch display, while the Aspire 5 will include AMD Ryzen 5000 Series mobile processors, AMD Radeon RX 640 GPUs, and a full-HD IPS 15.6-inch display.
As well as the AMD chips, the Nitro 5 will be available with 11th Gen Intel Core H35-series processors. Acer’s Predator Triton 300 SE and Predator Helios 300 gaming notebooks have also been updated for the 11th-generation Intel chips.
These Predator laptops will also be equipped with NVIDIA 30-series GPUs: the 3080 for the Helios 300 and 3060 for the Triton 300 SE.
James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc, says these new developments pack even more power into the thin and portable Predator Triton series.
“The Predator Triton 300 SE incorporates the new 11th Gen Intel Core H35-series processors specifically designed for ultraportable gaming and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs, plus up to 10 hours of battery life for those who need to use it for productivity between gaming sessions,” he said.
The Aspire 5 and 7, as well as the Predator Helios 300 and the Nitro 5, will arrive in Australia in the second quarter of this year, with prices to be confirmed. Australian availability for the Triton 300 SE is still pending.
