Apple Black Friday: The Sale (That Wasn’t)

Apple Black Friday: The Sale (That WasnIts the Black Friday sale that (kinda) wasn’t.

Apple has foregone its Black Friday tradition of offering (mild) discounts on iPods, iPads and other gear by instead giving Apple Store Gift Cards of between $25 – $150 on all full price purchases of Macs, iPads, iPhone’s.
For every iPod bought, Apple are giving a $25 gift card, while if you fancy buying a Mac or iPad you’ll get $150 or $75 voucher.
Consumers who were eager to get bargains on Apple’s “one day shopping event” today November 29 may be sadly disappointed, and likely to hit other retailers for actual discounts on gear.
The change to gift cards was reported in Apple blog 9to5Mac yesterday.
The publication cites an Apple source who says the process of manually changing every price for a one day sale was “waste of time and resources.”
