CE Retailer April Fools Day Joke Was Seriously Hot

As an April Fool’s Day stunt this was a good one, Curry at Curry’s.

For a consumer electronics retailer the UK Curry’s who recently rejected a billion-dollar takeover offer it was a no brainer with the introduction of a ‘Curry Truck’ outside their stores that actually gave away a hot curry dish on April Fools Day.

All shoppers had to do was swap their unwanted e-waste for a hot spicy dish from the purple Curry food truck.

Ironically, the business is claiming that the UK’s largest CE retailer who are the equivalent of JB Hi Fi, should be selling take away curries as part of their category mix.

Brand and marketing director for the business Dan Rubel said: “Many customers come to us looking confused and asking for a curry, but Lamb Rogan Josh lovers and Chicken Faal fans often leave empty handed.

“We decided enough is enough of feeling like the fool, so we are trialling our Curries for Tech scheme, allowing shoppers to help save e-waste from landfill whilst also getting their curry kick for free, at Currys.”
