Social Network Results Soar
The social network giant said it earned US$642 million (A$693.60 million) in the January-March quarter, up from $219 million in the same period a year ago.
Revenue was $US2.5 billion, up 71 percent from $US1.46 billion in the same period a year ago. Analysts, on average, had been expecting $2.36 billion.
Facebook shares climbed $2.34, or 3.8 percent, to $63.71 in extended trading after the results came out.
