Audible Brings Bite-Sized Audio Sharing To Social Media

Amazon company Audible is bringing bite-sized audio to social media via a new sharing feature.

Along the lines of memes, Vines or GIFs, Audible’s new Clips function allows content excerpts to be clipped and shared by users.

Listeners tap on the Clips icon within the app to select the moment they want to share, which allows up to 45 seconds of audio to be saved and then shared across multiple destinations, with friends able to listen to the excerpt without having to create an account or download an app.

Potential platforms for sharing include Facebook, Twitter, SMS, email, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

“Audible listeners know firsthand how emotionally engaging it can be to listen to a beautifully narrated story,” Audible spokesperson Tracey Markham commented.

“With Clips, listeners will be able to share inspiring excerpts with friends. Sharing is as simple and effortless as the act of listening itself.”

Audible ranges more than 200,000 audio titles from publishers, broadcasters, entertainers, magazine and newspaper publishers, and business information providers.
