ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle, a limited-edition gaming handheld designed to mark 20 years of the ROG brand.

The new device features a translucent black chassis with gold internal accents, a design ASUS says is intended to reference classic gaming hardware while showcasing its internal cooling and AMD-powered architecture.

The biggest upgrade is the move to OLED, with the ROG Xbox Ally X20 fitted with a 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR Display. The 1080p panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification and up to 1,400 nits peak brightness.

ASUS has also redesigned the thermal system to better manage heat around the OLED panel, while controls have been upgraded with TMR joysticks aimed at reducing drift and improving precision.

The handheld is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, paired with 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage. It runs Windows 11 Home and includes Xbox mode for console-style navigation.

Other features include a transforming D-pad that can switch from four-way to eight-way control, flush face buttons, impulse triggers, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB4 and an 80Wh battery.

ASUS is bundling the device with ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, which deliver a virtual 171-inch display, 240Hz refresh rate, micro-OLED panels and native 3DoF tracking.

Pricing and Australian availability have not yet been confirmed.
