Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference To Be Held Online For 2022
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is set to return in 2022 in an exclusively online format from the 6th to the 10th of June (PDT). Developers worldwide are able to attend the event for free, giving developers inside access to the information and technology needed to create apps on their iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS platforms.
Susan Prescott, vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing at Apple says that “At its heart, WWDC has always been a forum to create connection and build community,”
“In that spirit, WWDC22 invites developers from around the world to come together to explore how to bring their best ideas to life and push the envelope of what’s possible. We love connecting with our developers, and we hope all of our participants come away feeling energized by their experience.”
Apple’s developer community contains over 30 million people, and the WWDC22 aims to give these developers access to what they need to develop cutting edge apps and experiences. The program this year will include more information sessions, digital lounges and localized content than ever before.
Furthermore, on the first day of the conference (June 6th PDT) developers and students have been invited to watch the keynote presentation and State of the Union videos in person, alongside everyone else who is present online. Currently details of how to apply for spots are unavailable but will soon be available via the Apple Developer Website.
Finally, for the third year running, Apple is reintroducing their Swift Student Challenge, encouraging young students and developers to get into the Swift coding language via the Swift Playgrounds iPad app. Students worldwide are to develop an app using Swift Playgrounds and submit it by the 25th of April (PDT).
