Apple has posted record financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter, driven by strong iPhone sales and booming services revenue.

For the quarter ending September 27, Apple reported revenue of US$102.5 billion (A$156 billion), up 8% year-on-year and adjusted earnings per share of US$1.85, a 13% increase. The company also declared a cash dividend of US$0.26 per share, payable November 13.

“Apple is very proud to report a September quarter revenue record of $102.5 billion, including a September quarter revenue record for iPhone and an all-time revenue record for Services,” said CEO Tim Cook.

Cook credited the launch of the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Air, alongside new AirPods Pro 3 and Apple Watch models, for driving strong sales.

iPhone revenue rose 6% to US$49 billion, accounting for nearly half of Apple’s total revenue.

Services, including the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud and AppleCare, reached an all-time high of US$28.75 billion, up 15% year-on-year.

Mac sales climbed 13% to US$8.7 billion, while iPad and Wearables, Home and Accessories sales were flat.

The strong September quarter followed reports that the iPhone 17 series outsold the previous generation by 14% in the first 10 days of sales across the US and China.

Analysts said the new models, particularly the higher-end Pro devices, boosted Apple’s average selling price and contributed to a surge in demand.

Apple also provided an upbeat outlook for the December quarter, forecasting revenue growth of 10–12%, well above analyst expectations of 6%.

Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh said the company expects “double-digit iPhone revenue growth.”

Despite global challenges, including a slowdown in China and slower AI feature rollouts, Apple’s shares climbed over 4% in after-hours trading following the earnings announcement.
