Apple Readying New iMac With M3 Chip
Apple will release its latest iMac this year, with the new desktop machine likely to be fitted with a new M-series chip.
Bloomberg’s resident Apple insider Mark Gurman reports the new iMac is “at an advanced stage of development called engineering validation testing” with the company conducting production tests of the machine.
The computer isn’t expected to go into mass production for at least three months, and should ship in the second half of the year.

The new iMac will sport a 24-inch screen, like the current model — first released in April 2021 — and will feature a similar colour palette as the previous generation.
Aside from the M3 chip expected to be in the iMac, the computer will “see some of its internal components relocated and redesigned, and the manufacturing process for attaching the iMac’s stand is different”, Gurman reports.
Aside from the iMac, Apple has plans to launch three new Macs in the third quarter of 2023: the first 15-inch MacBook Air, a new Mac Pro with Apple chips, and an updated 13-inch MacBook Air.
