Apple is urging users of Iphone and Ipad to update their software to the latest version to fix the bugs brought forth by iOS 16.
While Apple does not give away or confirm security issues, they have been forced under the spotlight due to iOS 16 bugs.
The iOS 16.1 update is available for models dating back to iPhone 8, includes almost two dozen security fixes.
This includes a previously unknown vulnerability that was susceptible to attacks.
In a security advisory on Monday, Apple confirmed that an app with kernel privileges might be able to execute arbitrary code which might have been “actively exploited” by hackers.
Issues with the core Bluetooth were also detected. Any app might have been able to record audio using a pair of connected AirPods with the previous update.
iOS 16.1 fixes the problem of hackers accessing user-sensitive data.
Improved state management protects sensitive user information from getting disclosed when processing malicious web content.
MacOS Ventura 13 also fixes a similar issue- possibility of apps executing arbitrary code with kernel privileges- with improved memory handling.
MacOS Ventura supports all models of iMac Pro and Mac Studio and Macbook models from 2017 or later.
