Apple Knew Of iPhone Bends

Apple knew its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus phones were more likely to bend than previous models before these models were released onto the market, according to recently released internal documents.

The documents came to light during an ongoing lawsuit against Apple, regarding touchscreen failure due to bending.

Court-held documents revealed that in 2014 Apple’s internal tests found the iPhone 6 was 3.3 times more likely to bend than the iPhone 5S, while the larger iPhone 6 Plus was 7.2 times more likely.

At the time Apple blamed the problems on phones having been dropped multiple times on a hard surface.
