Apple iPhone 14 Proves Purple Is This Year’s Smartphone Colour

Apple’s iPhone 14 is expected to be unveiled in just over a week on September 7th, with a new leaked video showing off the phone in a new colour.

The video, which was released on Chinese social media site Weibo, shows off the handheld in a shimmering finish that appears purple at certain angles.

Purple seems to be the smartphone colour of 2022, with Samsung releasing their new Galaxy Z Flip4 and a new Galaxy S22 in ‘Bora Purple’, which translates to ‘Purple Purple’.

Alongside the new finish, the video reveals that the iPhone 14 will indeed become notchless for the first time, as previous rumours suggested. Whilst the model of the phone in the video is not disclosed, based on the sizing it appears to be an iPhone 14 Pro, as only the Pro and Pro Max models are expected to be notchless.

Previous leaks have also speculated that the iPhone 14 will get a bigger 48MP camera, 8K video recording, a titanium chassis an upgrade to the A16 chip in the pro models (the standard model to sport the same A15) and a bump in price by around 15%.

Apple is tipped to unveil the new phones on September 7th, with purchases starting September 16th.
