Apple Discontinues Popular iMac Model

Sometime over the weekend, Apple quietly stopped selling its Intel-based 21.5-inch iMac, the popular low end desktop computer seen in most schools and libraries.

This comes as Apple move to phase out its Intel-based iMacs in favour of the 24-inch and 27-inch models released earlier this year, and featuring its inhouse M1 chip.

The discontinued 21.5-inch ‌iMac‌ sported a 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, plus 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.

It retailed for A$1,499.
