Apple Begins Testing For Foldable iPhones, Upgrades For iPhone 13 Revealed

Apple has reportedly started early internal testing for an iPhone with a foldable screen, presumably aimed at rivalling similar handsets by Samsung and Motorola.

According to Bloomberg, the iPhone maker has already developed prototype foldable screens but it still a long way away from launching such a device.

The prototype is also still just a screen display and not an entire handset, an insider close to the company claimed.

Appleā€™s foldable concept phone is tipped to have a virtually invisible hinge and a 6.7-inch display, similar to the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The foldable iPhone would be a direct competitor to a number of premium foldable and flip smartphones released by the likes of Samsung and Motorola, including the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the new Motorola Razr.

The California-based company is also busy developing its next-generation iPhones for 2021.

Overall changes to the iPhone 13 are understood to be minor, however Apple is said to be testing an in-screen fingerprint reader and may be removing the charging port altogether in favour of wireless charging.

Reports also suggest Apple is planning to upgrade the iPad Pro with a miniLED display and a faster processor.
