More than one million Anker power banks whose products are being sold at Officeworks, JB Hi Fi, Amazon and direct are being recalled with the Chinese brand offering gift cards to affected customer.

In Australia, Anker products are distributed through several channels, including Dicker Data for IT resellers, Rexel for wholesale electrical supplies, and Directed Electronics Australia for general retail and the Eufy brand.

Anker products are also available at Costco.

This is not the first time that Anker have faced recall action for their flaky products. Back in October 2025 the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission issued a recall for Anker battery Model: A1647 a 20,000mAh, 22.5W output power bank.

In their latest recall for its PowerCore 10000 power bank (model A1263) it’s described as being due to a “potential issue with the lithium-ion battery” that could pose a fire safety risk.

the issues were first discovered in the USA after the Chinese Company received 19 reports of fires and explosions that caused minor burn injuries and resulted in property damage.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) recall covers about 1,158,000 units that were sold between June 2016 and December 2022.

The affected batteries can be identified by the Anker logo engraved on the side with the model number A1263 printed on the bottom edge.

Anker is offering affected consumers their choice of either a $30 gift card that can be used on Anker.com, or a free 10,000mAh Anker power bank as a replacement (model A1388) featuring upgrades including a charge level display and a USB-C charging cable lanyard.
