Amazon Gift Smart Home Tech To Homebuyers

Amazon is giving US customers up to $5,000 in smart home technology when they purchase a house through its new real estate partnership.

The TurnKey program is a partnership between the Seattle-based tech giant and a number of American real estate companies including Century21, Sotheby’s International Realty, and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

Amazon says TurnKey matches homebuyers with the “most highly vetted real estate agents”.

The company then gives and installs smart home products including Amazon’s own Alexa-powered Echo smart speakers, Ring video doorbells, Sonos Beams, smart lightbulbs, deadbolts and hubs to new homebuyers.

The full package, available to buyers who purchase a home over $700,000, is worth $5,000.

Those who buy a home worth between $150,000 and $399,000 get packages worth $1,000 while those purchasing homes worth $400,000 to $699,000 receive packages worth $2,500.

The TurnKey program is currently available in 15 metro areas in the US.
