Amazon is set to establish their Sydney warehousing operation at Eastern Creek close to LG Australia and Aldi’s warehouse operations.

Last week ChannelNews exclusively revealed that Amazon was establishing their Melbourne operation at in Dandenong South.

The operation at 29 National Drive in Dandenong within the M2 Industry Park, owned by Melbourne’s wealthy Pellicano family is already DA approved as a distribution centre as it was previously set up as a 24,387-metre distribution operation for Bunnings.

Last month Gerry Harvey was trying to convince journalists that it would take Amazon over 12 months to get a DA.

Leasing agents CBRE declined to comment citing strict confidentiality agreements.

In Sydney Amazon is believed to have cut a deal with the Goodman Group on a large fulfillment facility at the Oakdale Industrial Estate, on Old Wallgrove Road, at Eastern Creek.

Goodman has a close working relationship with Amazon having established warehousing operations for the online retailer across both Europe and the USA.

channelNews understands that the warehouses will be robotic and fitted out by specialiate warehouse logistic teams from the USA in coming months.
