Alcatel Invites NRL Fans To ‘Try For A Million’ Dollars

Ahead of the first Rabbitohs’ home game of the season, major sponsor Alcatel is giving NRL punters the chance to win a million dollars at each home game with its “Try For A Million” promotion.

In order to win, fans need to predict the exact number and sequence of tries scored by specific players and enter predictions on the Rabbitohs website ahead of each home game.

Each entry is free of charge, one entry permitted per person and limited to the first 5,000 entrants.

With 12 home games this season, fans are in with a chance to win up to $12 million.

This season marks the eighth year of partnership between Alcatel and the South Sydney Rabbitohs — whose jerseys sport the Alcatel branding for all 2019 and 2020 NRL away games.

TCL, Alcatel’s parent company, will also participate, awarding a TCL prize pack — which includes the latest TCL Television, tablet and smartphone — to a participating fan if the major prize is not won.

Alcatel has maintained its number three position in the Australian market for over three years thanks to its affordable premium smartphones and tablets each priced under $200.

“We are committed to adding value and excitement to people’s lives through access to affordable technology, so our partnerships are focused on bringing this to life,” says Sam Skontos, VP and Regional Managing Director, South East Asia & Pacific, for Alcatel.

“With our ‘Try For A Million’ promotion we are adding another layer of excitement to the game-day experience for both South Sydney fans and NRL fans more broadly.”

Since its brand relaunch in 2016, Alcatel has made sport and lifestyle sponsorships a key driver in its brand awareness strategies.

In addition to the Rabbitohs, Alcatel is the Official Smartphone partner of Liverpool FC in Australia and New Zealand, as well as naming rights of the annual Your Shot DJ competition.

Full terms and conditions of the “Try For a Million” promotion are available via the Rabbitohs’ website.
