Adobe Acquires Social Media Marketing Startup

Adobe is in the process of acquiring UK social media marketing startup ContentCal – an addition that will give its users a one-stop shop for posting social content across a number of channels.

According to Ashley Still, SVP, Digital Media at Adobe, the two companies already share many customers who “rely on Adobe creative products to produce amazing content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more”.

No doubt the program will be integrated into Adobe’s ever-growing suite, which also includes video software company Frame.io, which Adobe purchased in August for $1.78 billion.

Alex Packham, CEO and Founder of ContentCal said: “We started ContentCal knowing that the Creator Economy had the potential to fundamentally change the way people work. Today our technology is being used by some incredible businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives. Joining Adobe is a fantastic outcome because we’re bringing our technology to a global platform and will be able to share the power of ContentCal with creators no matter where they are.”

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, pending closing conditions.
