Unveiled at PAX in Melbourne, Acer has revealed three new Predator gaming products set to release to the Australian market in April – the Orion 9000 gaming PC, the Triton 700 gaming notebook, plus a new Windows Mixed Reality Headset.
Acer Predator Orion 9000 Gaming PC
Available from April next year in Harvey Norman for $6,999.
The Predator Orion 9000 Gaming PC is fitted with 128GB of quad-Channel DDR4 memory, suited to deal with high-intensity gaming tasks. The company claims the new product will provide gamers the latest in “high powered gaming technology”.
Head of Products at Acer, Gaba Cheng, states the products will be appealing to gamers, because of the rapid changes in the industry:
“The gaming industry is worth $2.96 billion in Australia, which highlights just how serious and passionate this market is about gaming. With these latest products, we’re looking to give the local market the tools they need to compete with the best around the world”.
Acer’s Orion 900includes liquid cooling and IceTunnel 2.0, which means even on hot summer days gamers will no don’t need to worry about overheating. This is especially appealing to the Australian and New Zealand gaming community.
Acer Predator Trition 700
Available at Harvey Norman for $4999
The new Triton 700 uses Nvidia max-Q, claimed to be used by NASA in space. The technology provides for an ultra thin design, without compromising gaming capabilities. The device is set to provide gamers with a more mobile gaming machine.
The device houses a high-performance NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 (overclockable) GPU and 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors, all wrapped in a 18.9 mm-thin aluminium chassis.
Acer Windows Mixed Reality
Acer’s new Windows Mixed Reality Headset claims to be “an affordable and lightweight headset”, made for gamers, whilst not compromising on mobility and comfort.
The headset includes an adjustable headband to ensure 100 per cent comfort, and a flip visor.
Acer’s headset features display resolutions of 1,440 x 1,440 per eye, to provide a “fully immersive experience through your virtual environment” within the ‘Six Degrees of Freedom (6DoF)’.
