Acer See US-China Trade War Silver Lining
Acer Co-COO, Tiffany Huang, claims strained US-China trade tensions will benefit notebook vendors by presenting the opportunity to improve risk management processes.
Reported by Taiwanese trade publication, DigiTimes, Acer is dynamically adjusting its manufacturing strategy, and is looking at designing a new non-China production model.
Huang asserts there’s no ‘definitive answer’ for vendors, with a remedy custom to each company amid the trade crisis.
She affirms it’s necessary to have production in numerous locations, warning tariffs could jump to 25%,
Interestingly, Huang informed DigiTimes that Acer has dedicated staff monitoring President Trump’s Twitter page, to swiftly respond to US policy changes.
The company claims it’s coordinating well with supply chain partners, however, is still reorganising production relocations based on fluctuating US-China trade tensions.
