Acer Posts 12% YoY Growth, Gaming & Chromebooks Soar

Acer Inc has released its December earnings results, notching a 12% year-on-year (YoY) increase to NT$21.03 billion (US$778.91 million), following strong growth in its gaming and Chromebook sectors.

Total revenues for 2017 totalled NT$237.332 billion, up 1.98% from the previous year where the company posted NT$232.732 billion (or 8% YoY measured in US$).

Acer’s Q4FY17 remained strong, on the back of continued growth in gaming products (soaring 129%), Chromebooks (climbing 67%), Windows-based commercial notebooks (up 45%) and its Altos artificial intelligence business (increasing 48%).
