Acer Launches Gaming Laptop Which Can Last For 18 Hours Straight

Acer unveiled a suite of new monitors and notebooks at its global press conference on Wednesday night, including the Swift 3X, which is designed for intense, hours-long gaming with stunning battery life.

The Taiwanese-owned tech company is set to release a series of notebooks across its Spin, Aspire and Swift range, several new gaming monitors and a premium notebook designed in collaboration with high-end automotive giant Porsche.

The Swift 3X, which will be available in Australia in Q1, 2021, is Acer’s first laptop with Intel’s Iris Xe graphics.

Featherlight at only 1.37kg, Acer says the the Swift 3X  is able to withstand up to 17.5 hours of task-intensive apps and can be fast-charged for four hours of battery life in under 30 minutes.

It’s also packed with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage on a 14-inch FHD IPS screen. Pricing is yet to be confirmed for this model.

Acer Swift 3X

Also available in Australia will be Acer’s new Aspire 5, which comes in two sizes: 14-inches and 15.6-inches.

Each now ships with an 11th-gen Intel processor with either Iris Xe graphics or an optional Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU.

Acer is also releasing a new curved, 34-inch gaming monitor which is set to be a gamer’s dream come true.

With a 2440×1440 screen, the Predator X34GS boasts a 180 Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.5ms response time for those data-heavy games.

The monitor’s VESA DisplayHDR 400 illuminates the finer details to create sharper images, while 98% DCI-P3 spectrum coverage brings images to life in vivid colour. The flexible stand also provides a multitude of viewing options, giving users the ability to adjust its tilt, swivel and height.

Two integrated 7-watt speakers eliminate the need for external speakers.

Acer Aspire 5

Expanding its product offering in the notebook market even further, Acer also unveiled three new TravelMate laptops two, ConceptD notebooks and a ConceptD desktop monitor.

In the TravelMate series, Acer launched the P4, Spin P4 and P2, which will all be available in early 2021.

All three new models leverage the latest 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors with Iris Xe graphics and up to NVIDIA® GeForce® MX350 GPUs

The TravelMate notebooks also have have eSIM-enabled[vii] 4G LTE connectivity, so business travellers can enjoy immediate connectivity to local networks

They are also designed for portability, as all of the models range from just 1.3 kg (2.87 lbs) to 1.625 kg (3.58 lbs) light and are under 20 mm thin.

In the ConceptD series, Acer is offering the powerful 18L ConceptD 300 desktop, which is packed with a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 GPU and 64 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory, making it easy to power through video editing, CAD, and 3D modelling projects and workflows

Its notebooks, the ConceptD 7 and ConceptD 7 Pro, both ship with 10th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, which feature built-in AI for intelligent performance, Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), Thunderbolt 3 technology and a 4K IPS[vii] display.

Porsche Design Acer Book RS

Acer’s most daring product this launch is the Porsche Design Acer Book RS, with a compact all-metal chassis which packs in up to the latest 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor and an NVIDIA® GeForce® MX350 GPU2 while remaining just 1.2 kg (2.65 lbs) light.

The Acer Book RS is finished with a carbon fibre cover, derived from decades of motorsports designs that value carbon fibre for its lightweight strength and extreme performance.

Porsche Design Acer Book RS was co-engineered with Intel and includes Intel Evo platform verified models[vii] to meet key experience targets for consistent responsiveness on battery, instant wake, real-world battery life and fast charge, making it an exceptional laptop for getting things done.

The Porsche Design Acer Book RS is pending Australian availabilities and a RRP has not yet been confirmed.
