Acer Enters Top End Pro Image Monitor Market

Acer who has seen a lift in sales for their gaming and top end monitors is now set to ship a 27”-inch 4K Ultra HD monitor that also comes with HDR.

Aimed at the pro designer and video editing market, as well as keen photographer and tech collages, the new monitor comes with a non-reflective adjustable shading hood for colour-critical projects.

The ProDesigner BM270 27-inch monitor also has its own display controller that allows users to adjust and save individual profiles and settings with just a mouse click.

Also included is the Acer ColorPlus technology suite, that is designed to provide consistent colour output and clearer visuals, with built-in 100 percent Adobe RGB and 100 percent sRGB coverage for storing and producing hues with high colour accuracy.

This significantly aids pro users who require screen displays to match print outputs, the company said.

Specs include a colour palette with up to 1,000 nits of brightness, LED local dimming in 384 individually controlled zones, and 10-bit colour depth. It features dual HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, Mini DisplayPort 1.2 and a Type C USB 3.1 hub, as well as two 4-watt speakers.

The ProDesigner BM270 meets 100 percent of the Rec. 709 and 97.8 percent of DCI-P3 colour coverage, Acer noted, adding that it’s factory pre-tuned and tested to ensure a Delta E<1 colour accuracy.

Pricing and availability in Australia have not been announced.
