Chrome Here To Stay: Google

Chrome Here To Stay: GoogleGoogle engineers have been working for about two years
to integrate the two operating systems.

But Google denied there are plans to do away with Chrome and replace it with
Android. Google told The Guardian there is “a tonne of momentum” for
Chrome OS and the company is committed to the system.

Android is the world’s most widely used operating system, powering more
than one billion phones and other devices made by dozens of companies. Chrome
OS, a cut-down version of Linux, is used to power lightweight PCs called
Chromebooks.

Planned changes to Android and Chrome OS will give Chromebook users access to
Google’s Play store, which offers more than one million apps. Google will also
retain the Chrome name for its Internet browser.
