‘iPad Pro’ Could Be Equipped With NFC
NFC is used in mobile payments technology, and while it is unlikely the Pro would be designed for making mobile payments, AppleInsider noted it could potentially be set up as an Apple Pay payment receiving terminal.
The source stated the Pro will be decked out with a new touchscreen with improved touch latency. Apple could also potentially employ its Force Touch technology, which, currently used on the Apple Watch, uses tiny electrodes to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press.
It was reported earlier in the year that Apple could be developing a Bluetooth stylus, with AppleInsider citing a report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in which Kuo stated he believes Apple will launch the stylus as an optional add-on to compliment the Pro.
AppleInsider’s source additionally stated the Pro will feature a new next-generation A-series processor, and a USB-C input, which could act as either a sole or complementary port available alongside a Lightning port.
Reports earlier in the year indicated Pro production will commence in the second half of the year.
