![]() Some customers lost access to the POP3 and IMAP email services which deliver email to mobile devices, along with laptop and desktop computer clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Firefox Thunderbird, reports The Australian, which also reported those reliant on iiNet’s own Web mail service as also having problems.
The outage did not affect iiNet customers’ overall access to the Internet nor other Web-based email services such as Gmail – when accessed through a browser.
“This fault impacts a significant number of customers using iiNet, Westnet and Adam Internet e-mail services,” iiNet said in a fault-report posted online.
The Perth-based ISP has set a deadline of October 15 for final restoration of e-mail services.
