Apple Pay International Rollout Could Begin In March
Canada could be first cab off the rank, with 9to5Mac reporting sources as stating negotiations are currently underway with regard to the service’s launch, which could potentially take place as early as March.
Launched in the US in October last year, Apple pay employs Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint screening technology, allowing users to make in-store payments by holding their iPhone near a contactless reader with their finger on Touch ID.
Apple Pay is available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, while users of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 can also use the service to make purchases within apps.
The 9to5Mac report notes the potential for the launch of the Apple Watch, which will also come with the Apple Pay service, to coincide with an international rollout of Apple Pay.
