BeoPlay A2 Bluetooth Speaker Designed For Life On The Go
Sporting a unique flat design, encased in two polymer shells with a solid aluminium core, the A2 features a “world’s first omni-directional sound solution for a flat speaker”, with True360 sound designed to project music in all directions.
The A2 incorporates a two-channel speaker, with two channels on each side of the device applying a new Bang & Olufsen technology called “Power Response Enhancement”, which, including an extra tweeter on the rear side of the main driver, is designed to ensure sound radiation around the edges.
Combined with the main speaker drivers’ omni-directional sound dispersion at low frequencies, Bang & Olufsen states this results in the True360 sound experience: “powerful, room-filling music in all directions”.
The A2 is equipped with battery power lasting up to 24 hours on a single charge, featuring Bang & Olufsen’s “Adaptive Power Management” technology, monitoring and anticipating the incoming audio signal to save battery life.
Designed by Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz, the A2 features a short, exchangeable premium leather strap, with Manz noting it has been designed with portability in mind.
“BeoPlay A2 was designed for a life on the go, and that has influenced every aspect of the speaker in terms of its design,” Manz commented.
“There is no front, there is no back – and there is no up or down, but there’s sound everywhere.”
Available in grey, green and black, the A2 enters the Australian market carrying a price tag of $479 (short strap $49 and long strap $69).
