70pc Of Biz Without Offices
About 70 percent of the world’s companies are getting rid of physical offices, according to Chafic Nassif, president for Ericsson Taiwan.
The figures are based on a survey conducted by Ericsson’s research unit ConsumerLab in 11 countries, including the US, China, India, UK, Sweden and Saudi Arabia.
Internet-based operations without offices entail the use of cloud computing services for remote working, compared to operations within offices.
The use of mobile devices has also been driving the shift towards operations without offices, while the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated that shift.
According to the survey, 60 percent of ICT decision makers see lower costs from remote working. More than 65 percent of them believe most enterprise meetings will be held online in 2030 while 43 percent believe there will be no offices due to remote working in 2030.
