Appliances Online Wins World Retail Award

CEO of Appliances Online, John Winning, said the award
solidifies years of hard work from his team whilst also highlighting that
Australian retailers are amongst some of the best in the world.

Appliances Online has humble beginnings, founded in 2005
with a laptop, rented truck and a 1300 number diverted to the mobile. The company
now employs upwards of 250 people and operates nationally via its own network
of trucks and drivers.

Winnings added: “The foundation of our business centres
around providing exceptional service so being
acknowledged with 2014’s Best Customer Experience award is
an incredible honour for our team.

“As a retailer, our mission is to provide the best
shopping experience in the world and this, alongside our company value to
impress every customer, is reflected in every area of our business. From our
24/7 locally based customer support and service teams right through to our
technology, marketing and distribution team – our customers are always top of
mind.

“It’s also great to see Australian retailers representing
our nation at the awards,” Winnings aid. “For years, Australian online
retailers have lagged behind our international counterparts, however

Australia’s presence at this year’s awards highlights just
how far we have come as an industry and I’m proud that Appliances Online is
helping lead the way.”

The 2014 World Retail Awards took place last night at
Salle Wagram in Paris. Finalists were judged by international retail
heavyweights including the likes of Spar International’s Gordon Campbell, Home
Retail Group’s Terry Duddy and Australian Myer’s Bernie Brooks.

Now in its eighth year, the World Retail Awards are the
only worldwide retail industry awards, recognising retail excellence
