TomTom’s Hole In One: Golfer GPS Sports Watch
2014’s ultimate golfing sports watch with GPS looks like it has just lobbed onto the green courtesy of GPS device-maker TomTom.
With graphics clearly showing key golf course data from more than 34,000 golf courses worldwide on what looks like a nicely large screen, the watch wirelessly interfaces with a corresponding app on your iPhone or Android.
The ‘unique’ course graphics clearly show accurate distances to hazards and layups while showing the best approach to the green. The app connectivity also ensures course updates are delivered wirelessly, enabling golfers to trust they are playing with the most up-to-date course information.
Light and durable, weather and water resistant, the TomTom Golfer is the latest addition to TomTom’s GPS sports watch range.
It uses GPS technology to automatically recognise nearby courses and find the next hole, letting golfers easily keep track of the score, distance and time of a round.
Additional features of TomTom Golfer include:
– Greenview – View unique green and hazard graphics before your shot.
– Hazards – See distances to individual hazards along the fairway.
– Round Tracking – Keep track of the score, distance, and time for your round.
– Lay-up- See remaining distances to lay-up points.
– Weather and water resistant – Play in any weather.
Battery life is up to 10 hours in GPS mode, with a thickness of 11.5mm and a weight of 53 grams.
Winnie Kwan, TomTom Consumer’s Senior Marketing Manager for the APAC region said: “Understanding the challenges ahead will help golfers to improve their score. The TomTom Golfer provides at-a-glance graphics to critical course data helping golfers to make smarter decisions and improve how they play.”
The TomTom Golfer will be available in late October for $299, with more information at TomTom’s site here.
