Garmin Introduces New Running Watch With Connectivity FeaturesThe Forerunner 25 tracks data including distance, pace and calories, and heart rate when paired with a heart rate monitor, while in between workouts activity tracking counts steps and calories and reminds users when they have been inactive for too long.

Pairing the Forerunner 25 with a compatible smartphone, runners can share their workouts in real time with Live Tracking, while smart notifications provide incoming alerts of calls, texts, emails and calendar events. Other connected features include social media sharing and automatic uploads to the free Garmin Connect online fitness community.

“Whether you’re preparing for your first 5k or gearing up for a marathon, the Forerunner 25 is a great tool to

keep runners motivated and on track with training,” Matt DeMoss, Garmin Australasia general manager, commented.

“The Forerunner 25 keeps runners connected to family and friends while keeping them active by tracking data during runs and the rest of their day.”

The Forerunner 25 comes in both large-faced and small-faced versions, with Garmin stating the large-faced version features up to 10 hours of battery life in training mode or 10 weeks in watch/activity tracking mode, with the small-faced version eight hours of battery life in training mode or eight weeks in watch/activity tracking mode.

The Forerunner 25 will be available from September – in black/red, black/blue in the large face, and black/purple and white/pink in the small face – at a recommended retail price of $219 or $269 bundled with a heart rate monitor.
