Apple Putting Tradititional Notebook Vendors Under Pressure

The Taiwanese based research group claim that demand for Samsung Electronics, Sony and HTC flagship smartphones are also falling. They claim that the expected launch in February or March 2015 of an Apple iWatch and new Apple PC products will put additional pressure on notebook sales.

They said that demand for non-Apple consumer notebooks and tablets is likely to remain weak in the fourth quarter of 2014 through to the second quarter of 2015 when Microsoft launches Windows 10.

They claim that Apple is reportedly is planning to add Pegatron Technology as an extra ODM partner for its iPhone 6 Plus starting the first quarter of 2015, in addition to Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), because of strong demand. Pegatron is expected to receive 20% of Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus orders for the quarter.
