According to the latest data from the Android Developers Dashboard, the latest iteration of Google’s mobile OS now accounts for almost 10% of total Android devices.

It’s another month of strong growth for Nougat, which accounted for 7.1% of total Android devices as of the start of May.

Notably, this month saw Nougat finally overtake Jelly Bean in popularity.

However, there’s still a sizable gap between it, Lollipop, Kitkat and Marshmallow.

Across the board, almost every previous version of Android shed users to fuel this growth. Even Gingerbread slipped from it’s usual 1% to 0.8%. Marshmallow proved to be the exception here, holding onto its sizable 31.2% slice of the pie.

Expect this trend to persist as we move into the second half of the year and more devices ship with Nougat pre-installed.
