HTC First: A Facebook Addicts Phone
The first phone to come with Facebook Home pre installed announced today, will be HTC First, dubbed “the ultimate social phone.”

First on sale in the U.S. from next week April 12, is not yet available in Australia, although HTC ‘superphone’ called ‘One’ goes on pre-sale today and hits shops from April 23, will run Facebook Home, once downloaded.

However, we just got word from HTC Oz that “there is no information on Australian
availability for the First, but First will be available with Orange
in France and EE in the UK shortly” so there’s hope yet).

HTC First is a simple looking 4.3″ screen phone on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU running at 1.4GHz, 16GB of storage, 1GB RAM, and 5-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0, 28mm lens, 1080p Full HD video recording and 1.6MP front cam.

Although some of the specs including the processor isn’t as fancy as say iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S 4 or even HTC’s  One ” but our hands-on time with the First left us optimistic that it’s capable of providing users with a smooth experience” according to The Verge who spent some time fiddling with ‘First’ today.

It’ll come in a slew of colours including black, white, red and blue and is also good value (sell in the US for $99) so will be huge appeal to Gen Y (a Facebook interface, cheap and groovy colours, you can’t go wrong).

Ralph de la Vega, head of AT&T Mobility, the first US telco to sell HTC First said, “this is the most immersive phone I’ve ever seen.”
