You Can Now Make Phone Calls In Gmail

As part of Google’s plan to add many more Workspace features, it has now added its Ring feature to the Gmail mobile app, meaning you can call another user by using the same Google Meet feature, but within Gmail.

Basically, Google is planning to move all its communications tools to within Gmail, making this the centre hub for all correspondence.

The Ring feature will let users make actual calls, too, not just set up group meetings. It will work much like any other VOIP app, but within the Google ecosystem.

This move comes as Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 attempts to take some of the ground that Google’s own suite of programs currently holds. And let’s not start on Zoom.
