Xiaomi Launches 17T Series In Australia With Leica 5x Telephoto Camera
Xiaomi has launched its new 17T Series smartphones in Australia, with the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro arriving as part of the company’s End of Financial Year sales push.
The new range brings Leica co-engineered 5x optical telephoto imaging to both models for the first time, with launch pricing starting from $799 after EOFY discounts and storage upgrade vouchers.
Both phones feature a triple-camera system led by a 50MP Leica main camera, a 50MP Leica 5x telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP front camera. The Pro model adds 4K 60fps cinematic recording, 8K 30fps video and 4K 120fps recording.
The 17T Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor and includes a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge. The 17T uses the Dimensity 8500-Ultra and has a 6,500mAh battery with 67W charging.

Both devices include 1.5K AMOLED displays, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, IP68 water and dust resistance, Xiaomi HyperOS and Xiaomi HyperAI. The Pro model offers a 144Hz refresh rate, while the 17T runs at 120Hz.
Available from 29 May to 30 June, the EOFY offer includes $200 off every 17T model, bonus gifts and a free storage upgrade while stocks last. The Xiaomi 17T Pro 512GB drops from $1,499 to $1,099 when the storage voucher is applied, while the Xiaomi 17T 512GB falls from $1,199 to $799.
Buyers of the 17T Pro will receive a REDMI Pad 2 tablet valued at $349, while 17T buyers receive a Xiaomi Travel Pack including REDMI Headphones Neo and a Xiaomi 67W 20,000mAh power bank, valued at $218 combined.
Xiaomi Australia go-to-market director Jephix Liu said the company timed the launch around EOFY to offer “real value” to Australian shoppers.
Alongside the phones, Xiaomi has also launched EOFY discounts across wearables, audio, power banks, smart home products and robot vacuums, with savings of up to 60%.
